The pockets and the screen printing are made by HandsOn, a work integration program for refugees in Bern. The programme is based on the following three focal points.
Participants at HandsOn work around 20 hours a week in production. They gain valuable work experience and become familiar with the demands placed on them by the Swiss job market.
Education is the key for a sustainable and successful integration into the job market. Refugees acquire the language certificate A2 or B1 at HandsOn and improve their knowledge of mathematics and ICT.
Attending an apprenticeship is the desired goal for participants of the HandsOn qualification programme. Job coaches accompany them in their search for an apprenticeship and support them in their transition to the first job.
